In November 2003 the town of Gaschurn won the Austrian State Prize for Tourism 2003 for their project: “Mountain Beach – Was brauche ich MEER?“. In various rankings the recreation park built in 1997 has repeatedly been voted Austria’s most beautiful natural pool.

Community Pool with a Rafting Route

To activate the traditional winter sport village Gaschurn also in summertime, the Mountain-Beach Recreation Park was developed. The focus of the recreation park is on two natural pools, situated on different levels of a slope and connected by a brook. "Rafting" down the brook on air mattresses is THE attraction for young visitors. Additional attractions are areas for water games, beach volleyball, a diving tower, mesh-fence area, island with hanging bridge, water ferry and water cable car, which bring in guests from near and far. In wintertime the pools are used for ice skating – creating fun all year round.
