Natural Pool on a Very Steep Slope

A cyclopean wall out of enormous shell limestone blocks supports the slope and provides room for the natural pool. The internationally-known artists Franziska and Mercedes Welte created both delicate and at the same time dynamic sculptures out of various metals, synthetics, fiberglass and epoxy resins, and luminous colored pigments – the so-called NONOS Ladies. They symbolize sensuousness, power and spontaneity, fascinating characteristics, which can also be ascribed to the natural water. Over a spiral staircase from the upper ground floor level one arrives at a square wooden pedestal at the foot of the wall. One continues over five rock steps to the exquisite large teakwood deck in front of the living room. Or one can dive directly into the light, crystal clear water. A narrow waterfall flows out of a stainless steel chute. It is not only a decorative element or a shower for swimmers, but its continual rushing sound serves as a distraction from the noisy road nearby.
