In the course of renovating its large "Jugendstil" house on the outskirts of the city, the Japanese-German couple wanted to extend its living space and create a place to swim in the garden. A close bond with nature was especially important, complete with flora and fauna for them to enjoy. And finally, a bit of Japan should also be included in the concept. The large terrace of domestic shell limestone forms the transition to the spacious garden. Beige colored natural stone serves as a connecting element to the attractive stone border of the natural pool and also provides a frame for the pool under water. Elegant shell limestone steps lead to a tiled platform at the edge of the pool, from where one can easily glide into the crystal clear, turquoise-green water. The curved contours of the regeneration zone are in stark formal contrast to the architecturally designed shore. The arrangement of Japanese maples, a bamboo grove, flowering dogwood, hosta, extensive graveled areas and natural rocks on the edge of the pool evokes an East Asian flair.
