HOW TO PROPERLY WINTERISE YOUR NATURAL POOL

The end of the swimming season is the best time to prepare your Swimming Pond for winter. This includes thorough cleaning of all surfaces, maintenance of plant areas, and relevant winterisation procedures. Depending on the length of use and overall condition of the facility, it may be time for a major service.

THOROUGH CLEANING/MAINTENANCE

Sediments accumulate in the regeneration area of the Swimming Pond, leading to an accumulation of organic matter over the years. After a few years, this can create oxygen-depleted zones at the bottom of the pond, upsetting the ecological balance. Then a “major service” must be carried out. This includes:

  • Suction of the sediment layer from the bottom of the pool in the swimming area
  • Vacuuming of the pool walls
  • Cutting back and removing dead marsh and water plants
  • Desludging of the regeneration zone
  • Flushing through of gravel areas
  • Cleaning skimmer, biofilter/mineral filter and PhosTec filter and preparing them for the non-operational period

WINTERISE THE EQUIPMENT

Do not forget to:

  • Remove cleaning robot from water and protect over winter
  • Remove UVC lamp and store it in a protected place over winter
  • Switch off pumps in the submersible pump shaft
  • Protect dry pumps during the winter
